Terms built for a simple tool.

By using SquidType, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

SquidType provides a browser-based typing test, result charts, locally generated coaching feedback, downloadable result certificates and educational articles. Features may change, be suspended or be removed. The service is provided without a promise of continuous availability.

Acceptable use

You may use SquidType for personal, educational or internal professional practice. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass security controls, generate artificial advertising interactions, scrape the site in a way that harms availability, or present SquidType as your own service without permission.

Automated benchmark use is permitted only when it does not create excessive traffic and the result clearly states the conditions of the test.

Intellectual property and third parties

The SquidType interface, original lessons, coaching copy and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Short factual references may be quoted with attribution. Do not republish substantial articles or clone the interface for commercial distribution.

Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners. SquidType is independent and is not endorsed by Monkeytype, Google, Cloudflare or keyboard manufacturers.

No professional guarantee

Typing scores vary with device, layout, prompt, fatigue and browser conditions. Downloadable certificates record a self-service browser result; they are not accredited, proctored, identity-verified or guaranteed to satisfy an employer. SquidType does not guarantee employment outcomes, productivity gains, AdSense approval or a specific improvement rate. Educational ergonomics content is general information and is not medical advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. SquidType is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated to reflect product, legal or operational changes. The effective date will identify the current version. Questions can be submitted through the Contact page.
